Fall and Spring semesters
Community Service: Heartwood - November 2nd
This is our second community service event of the semester. We will be helping out the Heartwood school with some planting and Fall clean-up. Our club has been volunteering with Heartwood for a couple years now and so they are very special to us. We will meet at the parking lot behind the PSS building on Sunday at 12:30pm, then we will carpool to Heartwood. We will discuss more details during this week's meeting.
Spring Show 2015 Theme - November 5th
As you may know by now, our biggest fundraising event for the club is our annual Spring Show and Plant Sale. Every year we pick a different theme for the display we put up in the conservatory. We would like to figure this out during our next meeting on November 5th! So come with a few theme ideas in mind as we will be voting for a theme on Wednesday.
Community Service: Woldumar Nature Center - Run-A-Munk 5k/10k - November 8th
This is Woldumar's 7th annual fundraising event where participants will have the opportunity to run through the beautiful trails of Woldumur Nature Center. Our job is to help by being Field Marshalls, so we will be directing people around the trails. The event is from 9:30am to 12:30, however registration starts at around 7:30am. If you have signed up for this please keep in mind that your collaboration will be needed for the entire event. We will be carpooling to the event, more information on this on next week's meeting.
AutumnFest 2014 - November 8th
AutumnFest is an annual event organized by the Collge of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR). There are lots of fun activities, food and the opportunity to meet with professionals of Michigan's agricultural and natural resources industries and alumni. We need 2-4 people to represent our club at the event. We will have a table with infomration about the club, pictures, etc. If you are interested please sign up! It's a a fun event and a good opportunity to meet/work side by side with your fellow Hort Club members.

Networking Night - November 12th
Networking Night is a roundtable type event where representatives from a variety of companies come to network with students. This is a great event for students to meet with possible employers, learn about internships and job opportunities directly from the companies that attend. Every year we invite companies that work in the different areas of Horticulture: nursery, production, landscaping, viticulture, etc. This way we ensure that every student gets the opportunity to learn about their area of interest. This is a professional event, so please dress business casual for the ocassion and bring your resumes.
